In March of 2003, Create Your Dreams began a mandatory tutoring program for students who fail to maintain a 3.0 GPA in school. The goal of this program is to improve our students' skills, abilities and grades. In addition, this program also exposes our students to positive role models through the volunteers who serve as tutors.

Each semester, we review our students' report cards and GPAs. Our students with a GPA above a 3.0, or a B average, are rewarded for their hard work and success. Our students who do not have a 3.0 are required to attend the tutoring program until they can bring up their average. We also encourage students who have a C in one or more classes to come to tutoring. 

Marcus Jones, a CYD Alum, currently runs the volunteer program. Volunteers are the "staff" of the tutoring program. Each day, two to three tutors come to the studio to work with the students. Even though students are asked to bring their textbooks and homework with them to the tutoring program, tutors use resources on the internet, in our library or their own creativity to help teach our students.

To track progress, each student in the tutoring program sets two to three academic goals to accomplish by their next report card. They are rewarded based on the accomplishment or progress towards these goals as well as improvement in their grades.
