Alissa Silverman, Executive Director

 Alissa has been involved with Create Your Dreams since 1995. Alissa volunteered here as a student at the Paideia School. She remained involved with the organization while attending Brown University in Rhode Island, running the summer camp program. In July 2001, she returned to serve as our Executive Director.

Prior to returning, Alissa managed the Federal Enterprise Community in Providence, RI. She also worked in a special education program at GoodWill Industries and at a Providence Housing Authority community center.

Ndelea Simama, Program Director

Ndelea joined the CYD staff in August 2003.  Ndelea is an Atlanta native who graduated from Johnson C. Smith University with an interdisciplinary degree in African American Studies and Writing.  She has extensive experience in Youth Development, which includes work in the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Community Development, coordination of the Prudential Youth Leadership Institute, and work as an Americorps member, where she instituted After-School Enrichment and Service Learning Programs for students at Therrell High School (one of the schools CYD serves). Ndelea grew up in the historic Washington Park Community, where she still resides.  She sees youth in Atlanta urban communities as a pivotal force in the maturation of the city and nation.
