Interested in getting involved with one of our annual fundraisers? We are currently forming the committees for both our spring Graduation Luncheon (June 2006) and our fall fundraiser (October 2006). Volunteers help with event logistics, invitations and promotions, getting items for our fall auction, securing sponsorships, ticket sales and decorations. Please call Alissa for more information.

August and September: Back to School Drive

Help CYD Students and Alums start the school year with the supplies they need to be successful. Gifts of school supplies (paper, pens, pencils, calculators, folders, etc), backpacks, study guides or old text books help our current students get back to school on the right track. A financial gift to our College Dreamers Student Needs fund helps an alum pay for college expenses they cannot cover like textbooks or lab supplies. August through December: Annual Campaign

Each year, generous individuals make donations to our annual campaign. The annual campaign helps us cover our operating costs for all of our programs so our students can continue to come free of charge. Our annual campaign also helps us expand our programs each year so we can continue to improve our services and meet our students needs. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. November/December: Be a Holiday Hero!

Each December, Create Your Dreams hosts a heartwarming Holiday party for our students and their families, our staff, Board and volunteers. Our students put on a Holiday Show with dances, songs and other performances. Holiday Heroes bring gifts for all the students and alums in our program. You can be a Holiday Hero by agreeing to sponsor a student. You can either shop for the gifts yourself or send us a check. You will get a wish list from the student you sponsor. We ask that you spend between $100 and $150 and bring us the gifts unwrapped.

Career Exploration Month

April will be career exploration month at Create Your Dreams.  Students will participate in a serious of career related events such as a networking party, a business etiquette workshop, career shadowing, and business dinner with informal discussion with professionals.  Volunteer professionals are needed to mingle and speak informally to students during the networking party and dinner, host a business etiquette workshop, and provide day long career shadowing opportunities.  We also are looking for professionals to do interactive workshops on their careers, or offer a tour of their work place. 

Professional Ambitions of our Students: Cardiologist, Pediatrician, Entertainment Lawyer, Graphic Designer, Teachers, Print Journalist, Actors, Fashion Designer, Athlete

We do need volunteers for the holidays to help us:
