| If it wasn’t for Create Your Dreams, I wouldn’t stand here as the salutatorian of Booker T. Washington High School, president of my senior class, and choreographer of the youth dance ministry at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Why? Because CYD helped me to obtain a confidence level that is immeasurable. How you ask? They continuously praised me for the little things that I did. I remember when I found out that I was a Coca-Cola Scholar, Ms. Anjulet and Ms. Alissa were so excited and they took way more interest in my accomplishment than anyone at my school. Because of Create Your Dreams, I have been able to attain a treasure of leadership experience and dedication, and because of this, I have been accepted at several colleges and universities, most notably, Agnes Scott, Oxford College of Emory University, and Spelman College. | |
| None of this would be possible without the help from Ms. Anjulet, Ms. Alissa, Ms. Star, and Nef. Even though there were times when I thought they got tired of me, they never denied me help. Rather, they reminded me what hard work was about. I’m a procrastinator and when it was time to apply to Oxford College, I decided to do it the same day as the deadline but Ms. Alissa stayed with me at the studio until it was submitted and for that, I am thankful. |  |
| My mother and brother have also been a huge part of my success. They are both hardworking individuals and I look up to them. I want to continue to make them proud which is why I plan to attend Agnes Scott and major in English or Sociology. I also plan to complete the five-year program at ASC to receive my Masters. Upon graduating, I plan to pursue a career in education. | |
| Right now my future goals and aspirations are dreams but one day they will come true, thanks to confidence instilled in me from my immediate, extended, and CYD family. Watch Video | |
